We are expanding !
The experiences of the last year summer school (2017) encouraged us to add a new block to our course. This year, we have Hands-on Anthropology: Role of the Ethnographer from 30 June till 14 July and then we continue with Hands-on Anthropology and Ethnographic Storytelling from 14 July till 28 July. Previously, we explored, shed tears and shared emotions over how we tell our anthropological stories but now we also want to share with you what is that we tell stories about. We ask you to join us and see how the world becomes object our stories. See you soon!
So you are coming to Amsterdam?
We love your 100% attention during the summer school but we also like that you can enjoy your time in Amsterdam. Please, explore the link below and see what festivals appeal to you and spark your general interest. Summer has arrived and Amsterdam is abuzz with action through the long days and warm nights. Canals are bustling with boats and terraces are filled late into the evening. June also kicks off a busy festival period. Open air music festivals fill the air with grooves and theatre festivals bring a cultural explosion to the city.
The excursion and mini-ethnography
We are already excited about the excursion and going under the skin of Amsterdam. This year, we will visit Amsterdam Root Festival and see how you can come up with stories. Please keep in mind, our kind of ethnography is about bringing within and without, outside and inside, culture and nature together. Please, look here if you want to know more about the festival: http://amsterdamroots.nl/programma-2018/?lang=en
Also, look at the blog section that you see what do we mean with sensory ethnography and what is expected of you when we go under the skin Amsterdam.
